DDG Ellard: Accepting fish subsidies agreement can give boost to global trading system
Speaking at the launch of the new “OECD Review of Fisheries 2025” report on 19 February, Deputy Director-General Angela Ellard urged WTO members that have not yet formally accepted the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies to accelerate as much as possible their domestic ratification processes. This would not only demonstrate commitment to sustainability of our oceans but also serve as an “important boost to the multilateral trading system at an important and challenging time,” she declared.
