Committee advances discussions on trade-related climate measures and technology transfer

At the 2-3 April meeting of the Committee on Trade and Environment and the thematic discussion preceding it, WTO members continued to deepen discussions regarding the intersection of global trade and environmental policies. Delegates examined two new proposals addressing trade-related climate measures (TrCMs) and reviewed key takeaways from recent thematic discussions on technology transfer and on TrCMs. They also discussed ways to enhance information flows and transparency, including in relation to WTO Secretariat’s work on trade and environment. In addition, there were updates on policy developments and member-driven environmental initiatives.
